Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced  Senior Biometrics Specialist  to support the analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement of large-scale biometric systems within security and border-management environments.

The successful candidate will act as a subject-matter expert in biometric matching, AFIS technologies, and biometric workflows, working closely with technical teams, operational stakeholders, and international organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject-matter expertise on biometric matching operations, workflows, and operational processes.

• Act as a biometric and technical AFIS expert in the development and evolution of biometric solutions.

• Evaluate biometric workflows, efficiency, performance, and quality-control processes.

• Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to biometric methodologies and operational procedures.

• Contribute to technical proposals, specifications, reports, and supporting documentation.

• Define and assess biometric performance requirements for different business domains.

• Analyze biometric accuracy and performance results and propose corrective actions.

• Analyze operational and technical logs and prepare findings and recommendations.

• Monitor developments and innovations in biometric technologies, standards, and algorithms.

• Participate in biometric working groups and technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders. 

Requirements

• Minimum 9 years of professional experience in IT .

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with 3M Cogent, Morpho/IDEMIA, or equivalent AFIS technologies  in large-scale environments.

• At least 3 years of experience in biometric workflows and/or technical operations involving AFIS or biometric systems supporting border control .

• Strong knowledge of biometric matching, identification, and verification processes.

• Experience with fingerprint, palm-print, and facial image processing solutions.

• Experience with biometric performance, accuracy, and data-quality principles.

• Experience analyzing technical and operational biometric system logs.

• Experience working in complex, security-sensitive, or mission-critical IT environments.

• Minimum 4 years of higher education corresponding to a Master's degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Biometrics, or a related discipline. 

⭐ Nice to Have

• Knowledge of ISO/IEC biometric standards.

• Knowledge of ANSI/NIST standards.

• Knowledge of ICAO biometric requirements.

• Previous experience in security-sensitive or EU institutional environments.

• Experience working with international stakeholders and large-scale biometric ecosystems.
